SUMMARY:Submissions: Yellow Studio Juried Member Show
DESCRIPTION:Title: Between Here and There \nTheme: Belonging \nJuror: Tina Villaveces\, Founder & Director\, Yellow Studio \nThe Gallery at Yellow Studio invites Yellow Studio Artist Members to consider the many dimensions of belonging: the spaces we claim and those that exclude us; the materials and gestures through which we forge connection; the tension between individuality and collectivity; the ways language\, memory\, and culture root us—or unsettle us. Belonging may manifest as comfort or conflict\, as intimacy or distance\, as visibility or erasure. \nBelonging is both a condition and a question. It describes our ties to place\, community\, and history\, while also exposing the fragility of those bonds. In a world marked by migration\, displacement\, cultural hybridity\, and shifting identities\, belonging becomes less a fixed state than a process\, something continually negotiated\, reimagined\, and reshaped. \nArtists working across all media are encouraged to submit works that explore how belonging is constructed\, disrupted\, or reinvented\, and what it means to find\, or make\, one’s place in the world. \nSubmitting Arists must be Yellow Studio Artist Members (or Supporter Members who are practicing Artists). \nNot a Member\, but want to join? Read more and become an Artist Member here. \n\n\n\nFrom Saturday November 22 to Saturday December 20\, The Gallery at Yellow Studio will present our Juried Member Show\, Between Here and There. The opening reception will take place on Saturday December 6 from 4 to 6pm.  \nTo submit via Artwork Archive:  \n\n\nFirst create an Artwork Archive profile\, if you don’t already have one. Having spent almost a decade working in commercial art galleries and museums in NYC\, she has a deep appreciation for those who create and a strong sense of commitment for authenticity. Tina finds joy in learning and discovering\, which she makes her routine by connecting and supporting women at Yellow Studio. \nTina has an MA in Museum Studies with a concentration in Contemporary Art from NYU and a BA in Art History with minors in Architecture and French from Trinity College in Hartford\, CT. \nTina worked at Pace Gallery\, Sean Kelly\, James Cohan and D’Amelio Terras\, plus interned at numerous museums including the MoMA\, Guggenheim and Whitney. SUMMARY:SPARK Your Life: Story Medicine for Modern Women with Tambra McCarthy
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \nA 3-Part Transformational Workshop Series  \nWe all carry stories. Some have shaped us. Others have caused us to dim our light\, or no longer fit. But now—you’re ready to reclaim your voice\, reconnect with your truth\, and ignite your next chapter. And the Fall season is the perfect time to shed. \nSPARK Your Life is a 3-week immersive experience for women ready to rise from the inside out. Through sacred storytelling\, mindfulness practices\, and creative expression\, you’ll be guided to release what no longer serves you—and step fully into the woman you are. \nEach 90-minute session blends guided breathwork + meditation\, reflective journaling\, and embodied writing/creating\, inviting you to explore the stories that live within your body and your voice. Through poetry\, monologue\, song\, artwork—even painting or movement—you’ll begin to reshape outdated narratives and reconnect with your inner fire. \nSpace is limited to 12 attendees.  \nThe Journey Unfolds Across Three Transformational Sessions:\nWeek 1: Uncover the Stories You Carry (Wednesday October 8)\nWe begin by creating a safe\, sacred space for self-expression and curiosity. Together we’ll explore the unconscious narratives that have shaped your identity—stories passed down\, picked up\, or held quietly for years. Through mindfulness and creative prompts\, you’ll begin to unravel what’s yours to keep\, and what’s ready to be released. \nFocus: Awareness\, clarity\, compassion\, community. \nWeek 2: Reclaim Your Voice\, Rewrite the Narrative (Wednesday October 15)\nThis week\, you’ll be guided through deeper embodiment practices—breath\, visualization\, intuitive writing—and creative rituals to reclaim your voice and reshape your story. You’ll meet your Wise Woman Within and begin to express yourself freely\, whether through words\, movement\, or creative form. \nFocus: Empowerment\, reframing\, self-expression\, authenticity. \nWeek 3: Embody & Share Your Truth in Sacred Circle (Wednesday October 22)\nOur final session is a powerful witnessing circle. In a supportive space\, you’ll have the opportunity to share a personal piece you’ve created—spoken\, sung\, written\, or visual. You’ll be seen\, celebrated\, and held as you step into your story not just as a narrator\, but as its author and embodiment. \nFocus: Integration\, visibility\, embodiment\, sacred community. \nWhat You’ll Experience:\n\nBreathwork\, grounding\, and visualization to quiet the mind and access inner wisdom\nJournaling and creative prompts to move your story from body to page or whatever form of self-expression you choose\nOpportunities to express through poetry\, painting\, monologue\, or music—no experience required\nA closing storytelling circle where you are witnessed and celebrated\nTake-home ritual prompts and a personal affirmation to support continued growth\n\nThis Workshop Series is For You If…\n\nYou’re ready to reconnect with your voice\, your creativity\, and your sacred truth\nYou’ve lived a life in service to\, or pleasing others and now want to come home to yourself\nYou’re navigating change\, transition\, or reinvention and seeking inner clarity\nYou long for a creative\, soulful space to reconnect with your inner fire and like-minded women\n\nYour story is sacred.
