DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \nPlease join us to celebrate Tricia Caracappa and view her new work in “Sweet Surrender” on Saturday September 13 from 4 to 6pm. \nThe Gallery at Yellow Studio presents “Sweet Surrender\,” a solo exhibition featuring new abstract works by Katonah-based artist Tricia Caracappa\, running from September 13 to October 11\, 2025. The exhibition investigates the transformative power of creative trust\, showcasing dynamic abstract landscapes that emerge when artistic control gives way to intuitive expression. “Sweet Surrender” chronicles Caracappa’s artistic evolution as she abandons rigid creative constraints to embrace a more fluid\, meditative practice\, working barefoot in her studio with music as her guide and allowing intuition and energy to direct her process. \nThe works showcase Caracappa’s unique blend of design sensibility and abstract expression. The exhibition features custom copper and wood sculptures designed by the artist\, complementing her paintings created with acrylics\, inks\, oil sticks\, and charcoal that reveal glimpses of beautifully dyed canvas beneath textured layers. The exhibition presents a spectrum of emotional and visual experiences\, from light and ethereal compositions to rich\, moody landscapes\, each reflecting Caracappa’s philosophy of “following the energy of what lights you up.” Through this creative surrender\, the artist discovered not chaos\, but a textured peacefulness filled with sustained delight\, inviting viewers to consider their relationship with letting go and trusting the creative process. \nView and purchase artwork from the exhibition here. All are welcome.  \n  \nABOUT THE ARTIST \nTricia Caracappa is an artist and designer whose work is rooted in delight\, movement\, and gratitude. She paints abstract energetic landscapes and designs interior elements that bring that energy into light and form. Based in Katonah\, New York\, she holds a BS from Providence College and a degree in interior design from Parsons. After leaving her corporate career at Morgan Stanley\, Caracappa has dedicated herself to creating energetic art and guiding women to curate soul-filled homes through intentional design. She currently serves on the board of the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association\, and her work is held in private collections nationwide. Notable recent exhibitions include her solo show “Possibilities” at The Gallery at Yellow Studio in 2023. SUMMARY:Wearable Art: Paper Bead Making Workshop with Rebecca Rivard
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nDiscover the joy of transforming recycled materials into wearable art in this creative bead making workshop\, led by artist and maker Rebecca Rivard. \nRebecca’s love for crafting started young\, with a curiosity for creative projects that carried into her early work as Arts Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Boston\, where she taught art to children of all ages. Today\, in her own practice\, she’s passionate about finding ways to repurpose materials and give them vibrant second lives. \nIn this hands-on workshop\, you’ll turn colorful strips of recycled magazine paper into unique\, one-of-a-kind beads. Using simple tools like wooden skewers and sealing with nail polish or fast-drying acrylic medium\, you’ll create your own stackable bracelets or layered necklaces\, an easy-to-learn process with endless creative possibilities. \nTogether\, we’ll explore: \n\nHow to cut and shape paper for different bead styles\nRolling and sealing methods\nTips for color combinations and design\nIdeas for finishing jewelry pieces of all lengths\n\nWhether you’re new to crafting or looking for a spark of inspiration\, this workshop is a fun and meaningful way to slow down\, connect\, and create. \nAll materials provided. No experience necessary. \nSpace is limited to 10 Attendees. \n  \n \nAbout Rebecca Rivard \nRebecca Rivard creates vibrant\, multi-layered abstractions that explore what lies beneath visible surfaces\, using intricate linear patterns to transform moments of meditation and raw emotion into visual narratives. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (BFA 1998)\, she expanded her artistic practice through music composition studies at Juilliard’s Evening Division (2017-2019). Rivard revitalized her visual art career through a residency at Yellow Studio. Her work has garnered Special Recognition at Carriage Barn Art Center’s All Member Show (2024) and exhibitions at The Gallery at Yellow Studio\, Bedford Art Show\, Katonah Library\, Northern Westchester Hospital\, Bethany Arts Community\, and Bedford Books. An active leader in Westchester’s artistic community\, Rivard serves on the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association board and teaches workshops at Yellow Studio\, emphasizing the transformative power of process-based art. \n
