SUMMARY:Submissions: Yellow Studio Juried Member Show
DESCRIPTION:Title: Between Here and There \nTheme: Belonging \nJuror: Tina Villaveces\, Founder & Director\, Yellow Studio \nThe Gallery at Yellow Studio invites Yellow Studio Artist Members to consider the many dimensions of belonging: the spaces we claim and those that exclude us; the materials and gestures through which we forge connection; the tension between individuality and collectivity; the ways language\, memory\, and culture root us—or unsettle us. Belonging may manifest as comfort or conflict\, as intimacy or distance\, as visibility or erasure. \nBelonging is both a condition and a question. It describes our ties to place\, community\, and history\, while also exposing the fragility of those bonds. In a world marked by migration\, displacement\, cultural hybridity\, and shifting identities\, belonging becomes less a fixed state than a process\, something continually negotiated\, reimagined\, and reshaped. \nArtists working across all media are encouraged to submit works that explore how belonging is constructed\, disrupted\, or reinvented\, and what it means to find\, or make\, one’s place in the world. \nSubmitting Arists must be Yellow Studio Artist Members (or Supporter Members who are practicing Artists). \nNot a Member\, but want to join? Read more and become an Artist Member here. \n\n\n\nFrom Saturday November 22 to Saturday December 20\, The Gallery at Yellow Studio will present our Juried Member Show\, Between Here and There. The opening reception will take place on Saturday December 6 from 4 to 6pm.  \nTo submit via Artwork Archive:  \n\n\nFirst create an Artwork Archive profile\, if you don’t already have one. Navigate to The Gallery at Yellow Studio’s open call. \nSetting up a free account on Artwork Archive to submit to calls: \n– Go to the Juried Member Show call for entry on Artwork Archive here. \n– Click on “Submit to Call” button. Having spent almost a decade working in commercial art galleries and museums in NYC\, she has a deep appreciation for those who create and a strong sense of commitment for authenticity. Tina finds joy in learning and discovering\, which she makes her routine by connecting and supporting women at Yellow Studio. \nTina has an MA in Museum Studies with a concentration in Contemporary Art from NYU and a BA in Art History with minors in Architecture and French from Trinity College in Hartford\, CT. \nTina worked at Pace Gallery\, Sean Kelly\, James Cohan and D’Amelio Terras\, plus interned at numerous museums including the MoMA\, Guggenheim and Whitney.
