DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nYellow Studio is constantly evolving and exploring new opportunities. Flowers in bloom serve as a visual reminder of the beauty in growth through change. In June\, we are celebrating the third anniversary of Yellow Studio with additional space to display art and expand our engagement with women owned businesses in the community. In this spirit\, Yellow Studio invited women Artists in the community working across all mediums to submit their floral artwork – work that is inspired by or a depiction of flowers. This installation is on view in The Co-Op and Beehive at Yellow Studio from June 21 to August 31. Please note that artwork will rotate in this installation. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nJoin us on Tuesday August 12 at 10am* at the studio of Yellow Studio Artist Member Sally Frank. Sally will be showing us her work (both current and older)\, telling us about her process\, giving us a tour of her studio set up and answering questions from the group. \nStudio address in Waccabuc\, NY to be provided upon RSVP. \nMember RSVP required. Space is limited to 7 Members.  \n*This event was rescheduled from May 22. \nAbout Sally Frank \nSally Frank is a printmaker who draws inspiration from close observations of the natural world and a deep sense of connection with the earth. She uses a variety of printmaking techniques to create etchings\, woodcuts\, monotypes and lithographs. \nShe began making prints while attending Simon’s Rock College in Great Barrington\, MA\, and later earned a master’s degree in printmaking from C.W. Post College in New York. Over the last 50 years\, her work has been included in exhibitions in galleries and art institutions across New York\, Connecticut\, Maryland\, Massachusetts and New Mexico. \nFrank’s work has been selected by a variety of notable jurors over the years\, including Jennifer Farrell\, associate curator of drawings and prints at the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, Eva Respini\, MOMA Curator department of photography and David Kiehl\, curator of prints at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Frank has been an artist in residence at the Weir Farm Arts Center in Wilton\, Connecticut. Her work has been acquired for many private and corporate collections including Memorial Sloan Kettering. \nFrank’s studio is in Waccabuc\, NY. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \nFILM CLUB! It’s like a book club…but with movies! Hosted by Beth Spitalny.\n  \nThe Yellow Studio Film Club is a group of women who are interested in watching and discussing female-centric stories that have been on the big screen. Each month\, a different film will be chosen – selections will vary in terms of genre and time period but will always involve a female-centric theme and/or be written and/or directed by a woman. Once a month the group will meet to discuss the various aspects of the chosen film. Meetings will be informal and open to any YS Member who has a passion\, interest and/or curiosity about movies.\n  \n\nFor our next meeting on Tuesday August 12 at 7pm we will be discussing the selected film\, Promising Young Woman starring Carey Mulligan and written and directed by Emerald Fennell. \nThis meetup will be a special offsite shindig at the home of Kate Berg in South Salem\, NY. A sign up sheet will be shared to bring a food item for the group. Upon graduation she was a finalist for the HBO/DGA directing fellowship. Beth resides in Cross River with her son and husband.
