SUMMARY:Nature & Sustainability Club: Early Spring Hike Along the Cross River
DESCRIPTION:Looking to reconnect with nature and other like-minded Yellow Studio women after the winter season? Join the Nature & Sustainability Club on Wednesday March 25 at 5:15pm for our first hike of the year — a peaceful early spring walk along the Cross River. \nThis riverside trail winds gently through Ward Pound Ridge Reservation\, following the original Cross River as it curves through forest and wetland. Early spring is a beautiful time to be out here: the woods are quiet\, the water is moving\, and the landscape is just beginning to wake up after winter. We’ll enjoy an approximately one-hour hike at a relaxed\, conversational pace\, with time to pause and take in the scenery. \nWard Pound Ridge is Westchester County’s largest park\, spanning over 4\,000 acres of protected land. The reservation preserves diverse ecosystems and historic waterways\, offering a rare sense of calm and continuity with the natural world. This stretch along the river is especially serene\, with open views of the water and gentle terrain suitable for most hikers. \nParking details and a map will be emailed to participants in advance of the hike. \nWe look forward to welcoming the new season together and enjoying the surrounding beauty with each of you. \nFor Yellow Studio Members. Please RSVP.

SUMMARY:Nature & Sustainability Club x Our Swap Shoppe: Swap 'Til You Drop
DESCRIPTION:The Yellow Studio Nature & Sustainability Club will co-host a women’s clothing swap on Thursday\, October 24 with local mom and sustainability advocate Kayla Kaplowitz\, founder of Our Swap Shoppe. Celebrate the International Day of Climate Action by swapping your pre-loved clothes and accessories for something “new.” \nThe average American buys 64 items of clothing and 7 pairs of shoes per year — 5x more than in 1980. Swapping your clothes helps to reduce textile waste\, encourages you to downsize your wardrobe responsibly\, and ensures your pre-loved items will find a good home. \nParticipants are asked to bring up to 10 pre-loved but good-condition Fall clothing and/or accessories and a tote bag. Dresses and blouses should be on hangers. This is not a 1:1 swap; it’s first-come first-served! Unwanted items will be donated to Dress for Success and The Community Center of Northern Westchester. \nLight bites and wine will be served\, and there will be plenty of clothing racks and tables to display each item. \nDue to space constraints\, this event is limited to 40 women. \nNot a YS Member and curious about joining? Learn more and join here. \nArtist\, Social and All Access YS Member (20% discount): $20\nCommunity YS Member (10% discount): $22.50\nNon YS Member: $25
