SUMMARY:Permission to Speak: A Creative Woman’s Guide to Public Speaking with Shelley Molad
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Permission to Speak with Shelley Molad on Thursday\, October 15 at 6:30pm. In this workshop\, you will learn to calm your nerves whether you are giving a public reading\, an interview\, a presentation\, or speaking in front of a crowd. \n\nActor and director Shelley Molad will share techniques for easing anxiety and connecting with your audience through breathing exercises and voice work. She’ll also talk about emphasis\, humor and drama\, making your words count\, and using the audiences’ energy. \n\nWe’ll practice slowing down\, improving our enunciation\, and preparing without over-preparing through performance and play. We’ll also devote time to practicing together in a supportive space with material that is brought in\, improvised or written in the workshop.\n\nJoin us for a gentle and friendly workshop on honing your courageous voice.\n\nAbout Shelley Molad\nShelley Molad is an actor\, director\, writer\, theater educator and on-camera coach. Shelley has been working for the SAG Foundation for a decade\, managing entertainment industry events and casting workshops as well as filming actors in their New York On-Camera Lab. She privately coaches actors of all levels and also teaches On Camera Acting at the Westchester Collaborative Theater in Ossining.  She received her BA in Creative Writing and Theater from Sarah Lawrence College\, her MFA in Acting from the New School for Drama\, and has completed semester programs at the Moscow Art Theater School as well as NYU Tisch School of Dramatic Writing. TV/Film credits include Evil Lives Here\, The Perfect Murder and Out of My Hand.
