Curated by Tina Villaveces\, this annual exhibition brings together 29 of Yellow Studio’s Artist Members working across painting\, sculpture\, photography\, mixed media\, and more. The exhibition is a portrait of a sustained creative community\, rooted in the towns and landscapes of Westchester\, the Hudson Valley\, and Southwestern Connecticut.  \nThe Artists in this exhibition come from different backgrounds and work in different ways\, but each has made their practice a serious and sustained part of their life. The work on view spans a wide range of mediums and approaches\, united by the sense that making art is not separate from living a life but emerges from one. She earned her BFA in Art and Design from Alfred University before building a multifaceted creative career spanning medical illustration\, advertising art direction\, graphic design\, and arts education. Her work bridges precision and expression\, informed equally by technical draftsmanship and a lifelong engagement with color\, composition\, and the natural world. Katie’s artwork has appeared in medical publications\, national advertising campaigns\, juried exhibitions\, and private collections. In addition to her studio practice\, she teaches painting and mixed media throughout the greater New York area\, encouraging experimentation\, observation\, and personal visual language in artists of all levels. \nCarol Paik is a mixed-media artist who divides her time between New York City and Pound Ridge\, NY. She is committed to not buying any new materials for her work. \nJessica Porter is an abstract painter based in Tarrytown\, NY. Her unique style combines her extensive art background with her expertise in the interior design and architecture industry. Captivated by the simplicity of hand-drawn renderings from a young age\, Jessica went on to a career in commercial design before returning to her early art roots. She now weaves the technical aspect of her career into her art to create captivating paintings that explore both architecture and nature together while playing with the light and color of a space. She creates a custom color palette for each piece to spark emotion and blend with the design of the space in which the painting will hang.  \nRebecca Rivard creates vibrant\, multi-layered abstractions that explore what lies beneath visible surfaces\, using intricate linear patterns to transform moments of meditation and raw emotion into visual narratives. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (BFA 1998)\, she expanded her artistic practice through music composition studies at Juilliard’s Evening Division (2017-2019). Rivard revitalized her visual art career through a residency at Yellow Studio. Her work has garnered Special Recognition at Carriage Barn Art Center’s All Member Show (2024) and exhibitions at Bedford Art Show\, Katonah Library\, Northern Westchester Hospital\, Bethany Arts Community\, and Bedford Books. An active leader in Westchester’s artistic community\, Rivard serves on the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association board and teaches workshops at Yellow Studio\, emphasizing the transformative power of process-based art.

SUMMARY:Nature & Sustainability Club: Evening Hike with the BRLA
DESCRIPTION:Join Valentina from the Bedford Riding Lanes Association team for a 1.5-2 mile hike along their beautiful and rambling private trails on Tuesday\, August 11 at 6pm. \nOfficially founded in 1920\, the BRLA maintains more than 100 linear miles of historic trails which connect and extend throughout Bedford\, Mount Kisco\, Katonah\, Bedford Hills\, Bedford Corners and Pound Ridge. Members meandering the trails enjoy the beautiful flora\, fauna and other natural wonders that make our community unique. The trail system is one of the largest remaining networks of private trails. The BRLA maintains and clears the trails year-round to ensure that they are preserved for future generations. \nThe mission of the BRLA is to preserve and maintain the historic trail system throughout greater Bedford while furthering its equestrian and pastoral traditions for the benefit and enjoyment of our entire community. \nPlease see information about hiking the trails here. \nWe will send parking and meet up location closer to the date. \nYour $20 ticket includes a donation to the BRLA and a glass of wine. \nSpace is limited to 15 hikers. \nOrganized by Sarah Ehrlich & Mona Lipson

DESCRIPTION:The Gallery at Yellow Studio presents “Traces of the Infinite\,” a small group exhibition featuring the work of Helena Palazzi\, Soli Pierce\, and Lara Saget\, on view September 12 through October 18\, 2026. The exhibition brings together three practices that share an interest in a rawness of material and form\, and a refusal to treat separation as final. Join us on Saturday\, September 12 for an artists’ talk at 3pm and an opening reception from 4 to 6pm. \nPierce and Saget both build their work from the materials of the natural world\, stone\, wood\, glass\, and metal\, treating found and raw matter as a starting point rather than a finished thing. Palazzi’s paintings meet that work with a muted palette and layered surface that hold the same quiet register. Together\, the artists share an interest in what lies beneath the visible surface of a work\, and in the moments when the boundaries we take for granted begin to give way. \nAbout the Artists \nHelena Palazzi is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Kingston\, New York. Born in Sweden\, she moved to Italy in 1993 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts Pietro Vannucci in Perugia\, Umbria\, where she was introduced to the ideas of Arte Povera and began exhibiting work in photography\, painting\, and mixed media. In 1998\, Palazzi relocated to New York City\, where she built an international career spanning more than two decades in fashion and commercial photography\, working with leading brands\, designers\, magazines\, and creative agencies. After moving to the Hudson Valley in 2019\, she gradually returned to painting\, reestablishing a studio practice that now forms the center of her work. Today\, she creates contemporary abstract paintings and works on paper from her studio in Kingston\, New York. \nSoli Pierce is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture\, encaustic painting\, photography\, installation\, and sound. Her practice explores how light\, material\, and atmosphere shape perception\, memory\, and inward reflection. She is known for her immersive sculptural environments and encaustic paintings that incorporate organic matter and recurring circular motifs. Her work has been the subject of recent solo exhibitions at KinoSaito Arts Center\, ArtsWestchester Gallery\, Hammond Museum\, and BAU Gallery\, with a 2025 artist-in-residence at KinoSaito and Jentel\, and a 2026 artist-in-residence at Tongue River. Pierce has received grants from ArtsWestchester and NYSCA\, and her work has appeared in The New York Times\, The Village Voice\, and Ars Electronica. \nLara Saget is a Brooklyn-based sculptor and artist whose practice explores spirituality through a scientific lens and imagines new possibilities of natural material design. Over the past decade\, she has envisioned large-scale sculptures in bronze\, glass\, and marble: exploring opposing elements\, creating synergies through these material encounters. Her sculptures and installations have been exhibited with Trotter&Sholer Gallery (New York\, NY)\, Halsey McKay Gallery (East Hampton\, NY)\, Bellevue Arts Museum (Bellevue\, WA)\, and Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (Houston\, TX). Saget was awarded the 2022 Tg: Transitions in Kiln-Glass Emerging Artist Honor\, along with the 2017 NYU MFA Artistic Practice Award. She received her BA from Barnard College and her MFA from New York University.

Like a painting created brushstroke by brushstroke\, a song composed note by note\, or a story written word by word\, a grounded life is shaped through small moments of presence—one breath\, one pause\, one return at a time. We’ll practice simple ways to calm the nervous system and reconnect with ourselves as we move into the months ahead. Because the practice isn’t about never losing our center. Parties bring together those we love and those we hate\, or maybe a stranger who can change your life in one night. If you have a story about a party\, we want to read it. \nBroad interpretations\, as well as all genres welcome — fiction\, non-fiction\, short play\, or poetry. \n  \nFive selected authors will be notified by Thursday September 3 and will read their work at the Writers’ Salon at Yellow Studio\, in person\, on Wednesday\, September 23 at 7pm. \n\n\n\n\nAbout Jessica Rao\nJessica Rao is the author of the forthcoming novel Nowhere to Go but Everywhere (Ten 16 Press\, September 2026). She’s also an award-winning journalist and media professional who has held contributor roles at CNBC and Gannett and overseen communications for Fortune 500 companies.\n\nIn addition to her media career\, Jessica is the Vice President of the White Plains Library Foundation Board and she hosts and produces literary events.\n\n\n\n\nAbout Ines Rodrigues\nInes Rodrigues is an author and teacher\, who published her first novel\, Days of Bossa Nova\, in 2017.  Her short fiction appears in The Plentitudes Literary Journal\, Columbia Anthology\, Tint Journal\, and 650-Writers Read. Her translation work appears in the Word for Word Anthology/2023\, and ANMLY.org. She was the recipient of the Word for Word Translation Grant from Columbia University in 2023. She’s a creative writing instructor at the Writing Institute/Sarah Lawrence College\, and Hugo House. Rodrigues was a writer-in-residence at Yellow Studio from November/2024 through February/2025. She is currently seeking representation for her second novel.

SUMMARY:Pressed Botanical Design Workshop with Marguerite Alpert
DESCRIPTION:For all interested artists of nature: this workshop on Wednesday September 30 at 6pm is an opportunity to create a pressed botanical composition using your own previously pressed materials from our earlier workshop. For anyone who did not attend the pressing workshop\, Marguerite will provide a beautiful selection of pressed botanical specimens. Depending on each participant’s pace\, a design may be completed or well underway by the end of the session. \nSpace is limited to 10 participants.  \n  \nAbout Marguerite Alpert \nMy artwork transforms pressed and dried botanical materials into compositions that invite close observation. I deconstruct flowers into their smallest components – individual petals\, sepals\, and fragments and use these elements as building blocks for larger designs. Through this process\, I aim to present familiar natural materials in unexpected ways\, encouraging viewers to see them with fresh eyes.  \nViewers frequently mistake my botanical compositions for watercolor paintings or pen and ink drawings\, only to discover with delightful surprise that they are observing actual plant matter. This moment of revelation consistently draws people closer to examine the work more carefully\, a response that lies at the heart of my artistic intention.  \nMy practice centers on revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary\, highlighting the intricate details in nature that we often overlook. The transformation that occurs during the pressing and drying process is itself a form of artistic alchemy. Fresh flowers and leaves give up their three-dimensional form\, becoming flattened through the application of pressure and time. This metamorphosis reveals hidden structures: the delicate network of veins threading through petals becomes visible\, colors also shift and intensify in unexpected ways\, and textures emerge that were previously obscured by the plant’s fresh form.  \nMy work celebrates both the fragility and resilience of botanical life. My goal is to slow down the viewer’s gaze to foster a deeper appreciation for the complex beauty of nature that surrounds us every day.

In this workshop\, you will learn to calm your nerves whether you are giving a public reading\, an interview\, a presentation\, or speaking in front of a crowd. \n\nActor and director Shelley Molad will share techniques for easing anxiety and connecting with your audience through breathing exercises and voice work. She’ll also talk about emphasis\, humor and drama\, making your words count\, and using the audiences’ energy. \n\nWe’ll practice slowing down\, improving our enunciation\, and preparing without over-preparing through performance and play. We’ll also devote time to practicing together in a supportive space with material that is brought in\, improvised or written in the workshop.\n\nJoin us for a gentle and friendly workshop on honing your courageous voice.\n\nAbout Shelley Molad\nShelley Molad is an actor\, director\, writer\, theater educator and on-camera coach. Shelley has been working for the SAG Foundation for a decade\, managing entertainment industry events and casting workshops as well as filming actors in their New York On-Camera Lab. She privately coaches actors of all levels and also teaches On Camera Acting at the Westchester Collaborative Theater in Ossining.  She received her BA in Creative Writing and Theater from Sarah Lawrence College\, her MFA in Acting from the New School for Drama\, and has completed semester programs at the Moscow Art Theater School as well as NYU Tisch School of Dramatic Writing. Using anonymous pictures sourced from thrift stores and their online counterparts\, Pascual used techniques of enlargement\, fragmentation\, and obfuscation to upend viewers’ expectations. While these alterations can be humorous\, there is also an implied discomfort in the abrupt cropping of limbs\, faces obscured by objects\, or physical destruction of images by shattering\, tearing\, or folding. \nThrough her interventions\, Pascual exaggerated and highlighted the artifice of these found images. Frequently encasing the enlarged images in thick Plexiglas and pairing them with common yet unexpected objects\, Pascual gave them new life and a newly charged aesthetic function. By enlarging them well beyond their intended size\, to a scale commensurate with furniture or sculpture\, she asserted the physicality of the images\, giving them volume and form. \nFeaturing 17 of Pascual’s works made between 2009 and 2014\, this exhibition demonstrates the artist’s methods of recontextualizing her original source material. Through dramatic changes to scale\, adding repurposed objects\, and other transformations\, Pascual created works that urge viewers to see everyday imagery from a new perspective. \n(Note: Museum admission tickets are purchased individually – General Admission: $16 / Senior: $13. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Evening Hike and Lake Hang with Jaime Gorman of Highland Goat on Thursday October 22 at 5pm! \nWe’re planning a relaxed evening hike at Mountain Lakes Park\, led by Yellow Studio member Jaime Gorman of Highland Goat\, a local cannabis gummy producer. We’ll take a scenic route through the park\, stopping to connect with nature and our beautiful surroundings.  \nAfter the hike\, we’ll head just a few minutes down the road to Jaime’s lakeside spot to cool off with a swim (if weather permits!)\, enjoy drinks and snacks on the dock\, and take in the peaceful surroundings. The lake is stunning\, especially at dusk\, and there is often a resident eagle gliding above the trees!
