Parking in the North Parking lot is the most convenient to this meeting point.  \n\n\n\nStorm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley\, where visitors experience large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under open sky. Since 1960\, Storm King has been dedicated to stewarding the hills\, meadows\, and forests of its site and surrounding landscape. Building on the visionary thinking of its founders\, Storm King supports artists and some of their most ambitious works. Changing exhibitions\, programming\, and seasons offer discoveries with every visit. \n\n\n\nPlease come prepared to spend the day walking and standing outdoors\, check the weather forecast\, and wear comfortable walking shoes. The Art Center’s grounds comprise varied terrain including rolling meadows\, hills\, wooded areas\, paved paths\, and gravel paths. DESCRIPTION:Yellow Studio Art Club hosted by Tricia Caracappa and Rebecca Rivard \n\n\n\nCalling all artists and art lovers alike. We are looking to build a community of creators and appreciators of all artistic disciplines\, from visual and performing artists to those in culinary and crafting fields and everything in between. Each regular meeting will provide an opportunity for a casual creative outlet (think still life station or clay making) while we share and discuss our various passions. Once our collective goals are established\, we will plan future meetings with occasions for critiques\, field trip adventures and more.  \n\n\n\nJoin us for our first Art Club meeting on September 19 at 6:30pm in the gallery at Yellow Studio.  \n\n\n\nThe theme of this first meetup will be What Inspires You and the format will be Show & Tell. This approach encourages viewers to engage deeply and actively with the artwork\, prompting them to explore its depths. \n\n\n\nPlease join us for the opening reception of WHAT IT LEAVES on Saturday September 9 from 4 to 6pm.  \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nCourtney Alan Rossy \n\n\n\n“My paintings are titled after they are finished. I paint from remembered landscapes that I carry with me – and the remembered feelings of them\, which of course become transformed. I could certainly never mirror nature. I would more like to paint what it leaves with me.” ~ Joan Mitchell \n\n\n\nArtist Statement \n\n\n\nMy work investigates memory and perception through colorful abstract paintings. My inspiration stems from observations of time spent surrounded by nature in local landscapes\, contemplating the complexity that surrounds us\, moments I value as an active part of my creative process. Each painting is a reflection of my interest in exploring the intricate connections between humans and the natural world. Trying to create the feeling of being immersed in nature\, each work encourages the viewer to look deeply and actively participate. Through layers of paint\, texture and movement\, I depict the moments that linger and the energy that is left behind. My work invites the viewer to contemplate their own relationship with the natural world and consider their role in creating a more harmonious and sustainable future.  \n\n\n\nBio \n\n\n\nCourtney Alan Rossy is a painter and art educator living in Bedford\, New York. She received a BA from Boston College with a double major in Studio Art and Communications\, focusing on visual communication and design. After years working in marketing in the magazine publishing industry\, she pursued a Masters in Art and Art Education at Teachers College at Columbia University\, painting in a studio once used by Georgia O’Keeffe. Most recently\, Courtney’s work has been exhibited in Brooklyn\, Tribeca\, Ridgefield and Westchester\, which has gained her collectors all along the East Coast. To extend her painting practice\, Courtney has participated in various residencies and workshops\, most recently at Yellow Studio in Cross River\, studying plein air under Drea Cofield\, landscape and abstraction under Josette Urso and watercolor under Robert O’Brien. She has been teaching Studio Art and Art History for over a decade\, creating partnerships with local museums and arts organizations. These collaborations have allowed her to share her love of art\, creative research\, and the importance of immersing oneself in art. Her studio practice focuses on exploration and growth with concepts that connect an active love of materiality and constant discovery. We will use rubber bands\, clips\, jar tops and other objects to resist a selection of brightly colored dyes.  \n\n\n\nEach participant will need to bring cotton\, linen or rayon items to dye. SUMMARY:Watercolor Workshop with Rebecca Rivard
DESCRIPTION:Join Rebecca Rivard for a morning of exploring the magic of wonder! We will begin by exploring the medium of watercolors and all of its amazing qualities. We will leave room to build additional layers of either watercolor or other media provided. There will also be opportunity to explore homemade watercolor pigments made from all natural ingredients like flowers and berries. This workshop is designed for beginners as well as more experienced painters who want to get lost in the joy of experimenting and explore the process more than the product. \n\n\n\nLight bites and beverages will be served.  \n\n\n\nLimited to 10 attendees.  \n\n\n\nAbout Rebecca Rivard \n\n\n\nAfter receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst\, I pursued a career in the non-profit world\, developing art programs for children of all ages as well as creating training for public school teachers. I enjoyed the hands-on nature of all of my work\, but most especially when I could share my passion first hand with the children I met. Their curiosity and sense of wonder was a sustaining spark for my own artistic explorations. \n\n\n\nWhen motherhood called\, my full time job became watching my own three remarkable children grow. I continued to explore various kinds of art\, dabbling in some children’s book illustration work and other opportunities for design and creativity. As a classically trained pianist I ran my own piano studio for several years as well. I loved sharing this side of the artistic world with all of my talented students. It was in large part due to their creativity and passion for learning that I decided to return to the classroom myself\, studying composition and digital music production at Juilliard’s Evening Division. I especially enjoyed combining the world of music and visual arts in my work scoring for pictures. This launched my creative endeavor\, 52songsforu\, a music video short project with the aim of creating 52 original pieces of music set to videos shot by me (check it out here: 52songsforu). \n\n\n\nI am welcoming this next stage in my life as an opportunity to pursue my art more vigorously. There is magic to be found in self discovery\, in learning new skills and expanding what it means to call myself an artist.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate the Artist and enjoy a first look at her paintings in Megan Cedro’s Meant to Be.  \n\n\n\nYellow Studio will once again partner with Our North in Katonah for the Katonah Art Walk taking place from 3 to 7 on June 24. Be sure to stop by and check out more of Megan Cedro’s paintings at this location (43 Katonah Avenue).  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe women in Megan Cedro’s paintings are constantly evolving\, simultaneously with the Artist. Cedro’s inspiration stems from her background in fashion and makeup combined with a deep love and understanding of animals and nature. Her expressive line work blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction. The contrasting palettes of muted tones with dark\, moody colors create a sense of tension and energy in her paintings. Creativity and nature are mysterious to Cedro and this outlook leads her to approach her paintings without a plan. As she adds color and texture to a canvas\, the composition unfolds. Drawing from her own experiences and observations of the world around her\, Cedro creates imagery that is personal yet universal. The subtle but penetrating gaze of her ethereal figures alludes to the mixture of emotions that defines womanhood. Cedro invites the viewer to reflect on their own experiences and to consider the broader social and cultural forces that shape our lives. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Megan Cedro \n\n\n\nMegan Cedro is a self-taught\, Bedford-based artist. Her highly expressive and haunting images have captivated viewers for nearly 15 years. Cedro’s work has been exhibited in galleries and shops in Brooklyn\, Manhattan and Westchester County. Megan has a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and worked as a MAC makeup artist for 6+ years in New York City. It was working as a makeup artist\, when Cedro first started painting\, using actual makeup. She then decided to pursue her art career full time and got her first art studio in 2009. In 2010\, she exhibited her solo show at Yashir Gallery in Greenpoint Brooklyn with a sold out show. Megan continued to showcase and sell her works at various galleries all across NYC including Tria Gallery in Tribeca and Pierogi in Williamsburg BK\, as well as privately. After moving to Bedford in 2017\, she has exhibited with The Bedford Art Show and The Katonah Museum of Art Gala and Auction. Her most recent solo show “AMUSE” at CB Gallery in Katonah in 2021 was a highlight of Cedro’s Career\, gaining several new private collectors in the area. With each new work\, she continues to push the boundaries in her body of work\, challenging herself and her viewers to see the world in new and exciting ways.

DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn more about the process\, practice and inspiration behind the works of Conny Goelz Schmitt and Domenica Brockman featured in Intersection of Color.  \n\n\n\nThis is the also the final day to see Intersection of Color at Yellow Studio.  \n\n\n\nIntersection of Color features paintings by Domenica Brockman and sculptures and collages by Conny Goelz Schmitt. Geometry\, with attention to balance and dimensionality\, guides the eye through meditative and joyful arrangements of color and form. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nArtist Statements \n\n\n\nDomenica Brockman \n\n\n\nI draw inspiration from the natural world: shafts of sunlight\, rainbows\, kaleidoscopes\, light refractions and reflections. I look at the effects of light on clouds in sunsets and the little rainbows that appear in gasoline spills on asphalt\, or in soap bubbles. I am also attracted to the logic of geometry. Through the informal study of geometry\, I aim to find that certain balance and “rightness” that can be found in nature. Created to lift spirits and brighten the day during challenging times\, my hope is that these works bring feelings of joy and hope. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nConny Goelz Schmitt \n\n\n\nThrough geometric collages and sculptures built from vintage book parts I tell stories utilizing every part of the book except text. I play with deconstruction\, reconstruction and changing dimensionality\, treating the book as a time machine transporting me back to the past and into the future. Having been immersed in three very different cultures\, elements of each of them are present in my projects. I am influenced by the German attention to detail\, the retro color palette of Taiwan in the 1980’s and the experimental\, pioneering spirit of America. Although my work may seem planned and calculated\, it evolves organically within a rule-based system. This process conveys a world of adventure and surprise\, providing the freedom to explore. A pursuit for balance and harmony becomes a meditation and ritual.

DESCRIPTION:Yellow Studio is thrilled to announce that we will now be offering Yoga in our ground floor gallery space – instructed by Katy Ferrarone\, local artist and yoga instructor. This is an open level class (beginners to advanced welcome) that will not only be a physical asana practice but will allow for Pranayama (breath work) and meditation.  \n\n\n\nYogis are invited to pop over to O2 for a smoothie and time to mingle with their classmates after class. Members can also use this as an opportunity to jumpstart their workday or morning of creativity up in our Attic coworking/community space. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Katy \n\n\n\nKaty Ferrarone has been practicing yoga for 30 years. She became a teacher 15 years ago as she wanted to share the benefits yoga and meditation had brought into her life.  \n\n\n\nKaty is a 500 hour RYT\, trained at YogaWorks in New York City. Throughout her teaching career\, she has taught in New York\, Connecticut\, Hong Kong and Singapore.  \n\n\n\nKaty’s classes are a combination of Iyengar\, Ashtanga and Hatha with pranayama and meditation included.  \n\n\n\nShe is happy to have found a yoga home in Yellow Monkey Village at 02 Living and Yellow Studio! During New York Fashion Week in September 2012\, Tia introduced her namesake brand\, and was quickly named a new designer to watch by Style.com\, Vogue Italia and WWD. In her debut season\, Spring/Summer 2013\, Tia won the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award in women’s wear\, honoring the best in emerging fashion talent. Tia applies her deep knowledge of high craftsmanship to her current work making heirloom quality children’s wear. She believes that good design should be inventive\, uplifting and functional! She draws inspiration from her North African heritage and the world in which we live\, making for a juxtaposition of poetic charm and modern day pragmatism. Textiles are Tia’s first love as a fashion designer. Each season presents a myriad of textures in cotton\, wool\, silk and linen cloths researched and developed in collaboration with artisans and reputable mills. Her artistic journey began as a young girl as she was influenced by her mother’s style and creativity. Alissa’s energetic paintings are inspired by her upbringing as well her passion for color\, photography\, and the time she spends in her gardens. Using mainly acrylic paints\, she also incorporates oils\, pastels and collage elements in her designs. Through her distinct use of color\, gesture and a visual language that is recognizably her own\, her paintings become powerful focal points in the spaces they inhabit. She became a teacher 15 years ago as she wanted to share the benefits yoga and meditation had brought into her life.  \n\n\n\nKaty is a 500 hour RYT\, trained at YogaWorks in New York City. Throughout her teaching career\, she has taught in New York\, Connecticut\, Hong Kong and Singapore.  \n\n\n\nKaty’s classes are a combination of Iyengar\, Ashtanga and Hatha with pranayama and meditation included.  \n\n\n\nShe is happy to have found a yoga home in Yellow Monkey Village at 02 Living and Yellow Studio! DESCRIPTION:Talk 4 in the “From Passion to Profit: Local Women Doing What They Love” 6-part series  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTina Villaveces is Supporting Women Artists \n\n\n\nTina Villaveces is a recent Brooklyn transplant who has dedicated the majority of her career to the arts. Having spent almost a decade working in commercial art galleries and museums in NYC\, she has a deep appreciation for those who create and holds a strong sense of commitment for authenticity. Tina worked at Pace Gallery\, Sean Kelly\, James Cohan and D’Amelio Terras\, plus interned at numerous museums including the MoMA\, Guggenheim and Whitney. She also worked as a Project Manager at Pentagram. Most recently\, she did a stint at The Aldrich in Ridgefield and volunteered at the Katonah Museum of Art. She is currently an associate board member of the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association. Her artistic journey began as a young girl as she was influenced by her mother’s style and creativity. Alissa’s energetic paintings are inspired by her upbringing as well her passion for color\, photography\, and the time she spends in her gardens. Using mainly acrylic paints\, she also incorporates oils\, pastels and collage elements in her designs. Through her distinct use of color\, gesture and a visual language that is recognizably her own\, her paintings become powerful focal points in the spaces they inhabit. Her style and design concepts are constantly evolving as she learns new techniques and discovers new inspirations for her color palettes and compositions. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJenn Streicher is at the Forefront of the Beauty Industry \n\n\n\nTuesday\, March 21 at 6:30pm \n\n\n\nJenn Streicher is one of the beauty industry’s most sought-after makeup artists. Known for her signature ability to accentuate a woman’s natural beauty\, her longtime clients include Emily Blunt\, Mandy Moore\, Anne Hathaway and Greta Gerwig. The products that make it to SCOUT’s shelves have been hand-selected and vetted by Jenn personally. She will champion brands that are clean\, sustainable and responsible\, and her years of real world and celebrity experience in the beauty industry have helped create a space filled with thoughtful\, curated beauty products. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nDeanna Marano is Bringing People Together \n\n\n\nTuesday\, April 11 at 6:30pm \n\n\n\nDeanna Marano\, co-founder of La Maison Fête and a native New Yorker\, started her career in the fashion and accessory industry\, helping develop and launch collections with luxury brands such as Calvin Klein and Ghurka.  After 10 years in the fashion industry\, Deanna started her own event planning company in 2003\, Deanna Marano Events.  Inspired by fashion\, Deanna created a fantasy world for her clients dressing their festivities and weddings with classic to modern table and space designs accompanied by panache accouterments.  Her meticulous attention to detail and creative edge has drawn the attention of high profile magazines such as Town & Country Weddings\, Quest Magazine\, Greenwich Magazine\, Brides and others.  Deanna’s passion is all about aesthetics\, taking a vision and creating beautiful events\, intimate gatherings\, and soirées that are enjoyable and distinctly memorable. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFran Hauser is Leveling the Playing Field for Women \n\n\n\nTuesday\, May 9 at 6:30pm \n\n\n\nFran Hauser is passionate about leveling the playing field for women. She does this through her investing\, writing\, and speaking. Fran has invested in over 30 female-founded companies across consumer tech\, CPG\, media & publishing\, and wellness. She is the best-selling author of The Myth of the Nice Girl: Achieving a Career You Love Without Becoming a Person You Hate which has been translated into six languages and was named “Best Business Book of the Year\, 2018” by Audible. Fran’s new book\, Embrace the Work\, Love Your Career is quickly becoming the go-to for women seeking more joy and fulfillment in their career. During New York Fashion Week in September 2012\, Tia introduced her namesake brand\, and was quickly named a new designer to watch by Style.com\, Vogue Italia and WWD. In her debut season\, Spring/Summer 2013\, Tia won the Fashion Group International Rising Star Award in women’s wear\, honoring the best in emerging fashion talent. Tia applies her deep knowledge of high craftsmanship to her current work making heirloom quality children’s wear. She believes that good design should be inventive\, uplifting and functional! She draws inspiration from her North African heritage and the world in which we live\, making for a juxtaposition of poetic charm and modern day pragmatism. Textiles are Tia’s first love as a fashion designer. Each season presents a myriad of textures in cotton\, wool\, silk and linen cloths researched and developed in collaboration with artisans and reputable mills. Tia and her young family currently live in the beautiful countryside of New York state.

SUMMARY:Intersection of Color: Domenica Brockman & Conny Goelz Schmitt
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of Intersection of Color.  \n\n\n\nIntersection of Color features paintings by Domenica Brockman and sculptures\, collages and mobiles by Conny Goelz Schmitt. Geometry\, with attention to balance and dimensionality\, guides the eye through meditative and joyful arrangements of color and form. \n\n\n\nYou can read more about the exhibition here.  \n\n\n\nDomenica Brockman \n\n\n\nI draw inspiration from the natural world: shafts of sunlight\, rainbows\, kaleidoscopes\, light refractions and reflections. I look at the effects of light on clouds in sunsets and the little rainbows that appear in gasoline spills on asphalt\, or in soap bubbles. I am also attracted to the logic of geometry. Through the informal study of geometry\, I aim to find that certain balance and “rightness” that can be found in nature. Created to lift spirits and brighten the day during challenging times\, my hope is that these works bring feelings of joy and hope. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nConny Goelz Schmitt \n\n\n\nThrough geometric collages and sculptures built from vintage book parts I tell stories utilizing every part of the book except text. I play with deconstruction\, reconstruction and changing dimensionality\, treating the book as a time machine transporting me back to the past and into the future. Having been immersed in three very different cultures\, elements of each of them are present in my projects. I am influenced by the German attention to detail\, the retro color palette of Taiwan in the 1980’s and the experimental\, pioneering spirit of America. Although my work may seem planned and calculated\, it evolves organically within a rule-based system. This process conveys a world of adventure and surprise\, providing the freedom to explore. A pursuit for balance and harmony becomes a meditation and ritual.
