SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Dreaming in Color
DESCRIPTION:Dreaming in Color features paintings and collages by Katy Ferrarone\, Allison Rietta and Emily Keating Snyder. Join us on Saturday September 14 from 4 to 6pm to see the show and celebrate the Artists. \nPlease RSVP. All are welcome. \n  \nAbout the Exhibition: \nThe Gallery at Yellow Studio is pleased to present “Dreaming in Color\,” a captivating exhibition featuring the works of Katy Ferrarone\, Emily Keating Snyder\, and Allison Rietta. This show explores the intersection of mindfulness\, color\, and geometric abstraction in contemporary art. The exhibition runs from September 14 to October 11\, with an opening reception on Saturday\, September 14 from 4-6pm. \nIn “Dreaming in Color\,” these three artists invite viewers into a world where meditation meets canvas. Ferrarone’s circular forms and repetitive marks map the landscape of the mind\, Keating Snyder’s embroidered canvases blend craft and fine art\, and Rietta’s geometric abstractions explore mystic patterns and sacred sounds. Each artist uses color as a powerful tool to evoke emotion and presence\, creating works that resonate on a deeply personal level. \nSelect images here. \nAbout the Artists: \nKaty Ferrarone is an American painter based in New York with a BFA from Syracuse University. Her work centers around mindfulness\, using color\, space\, and scale to depict emotions. Ferrarone’s paintings serve as maps of her mind’s experiences\, exploring how to maintain a mindful state. Her background as a yoga and meditation teacher informs her artistic practice\, using repetitive marks to quiet thoughts and remain present. Ferrarone has shown her paintings throughout the United States and Asia. For more information visit katyferrarone.com \nEmily Keating Snyder is a New York-based artist creating colorful abstract paintings that incorporate embroidery. A graduate of NYU\, Snyder’s work brings craft into fine art by stitching thread through canvas. Her minimalist\, textural paintings balance hard edges with soft fibers\, reflecting the mind’s push/pull between playful freedom and desire for order. Her art has been featured by Anthropologie\, Real Simple\, Emily Henderson\, Clever and Parachute Home. For more information visit emilykeatingsnyder.com \nAllison Rietta is an abstract painter based in Toronto\, Canada. Her paintings and collages explore mystic geometry\, symbols\, and patterns\, informed by her background in graphic design and spiritual practice of meditation and sound. Rietta’s work blends the inner and outer character traits of spirituality with the relationship between simple shapes and forms. She has exhibited in solo and group shows in Toronto\, New York and London. For more information visit allisonrietta.com

SUMMARY:Creating Abstract Art with The Joy of Fall Palettes Workshop with Tricia Caracappa
DESCRIPTION:On September 19\, dive into the beauty of fall through the eyes of abstract art. \nLearn to mix vibrant\, warm autumn hues and create an abstract painting inspired by the landscape of the Northeast in the Fall…. apple orchards\, pumpkin patches\, rustic barns\, reservoirs with a backdrop of patchwork mountains\, dirt roads freckled with colorful leaves. \nWorkshop includes a canvas. Participants will also be given a palette knife and paintbrush to continue their color mixing journeys at home or back in their studios. \nBring your own inspirational photo or choose from one on hand to get you in the joyful mood of using fall color palettes and nature’s inspiration to create warm earthy abstract art. \nLight refreshments\, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be served. \n  \nAbout Tricia Caracappa:  \nTricia Caracappa is an artist and designer living in Katonah\, New York. Tricia received a BS in Systems Science Physics from Providence College\, with a strong focus in Studio Art. She retired from corporate and launched her interior design business. \nShortly after she was asked a pivotal question\, “If you were in a room filled with opportunities and success were guaranteed\, what would you?” Her answer and action were immediate\,” ARTIST.” Today she follows what absolutely lights her up – making beautiful\, energetic art that reminds her to live life fully with ease and delight\, joy and peace\, not pressure or stress. \nHer art studio is in tucked into the 19th century brick lined Yellow Monkey Village in Cross River\, New York. Nature\, movement\, color and beauty inform her curiosity\, play and flow in the studio where she finds freedom in the abstract and grounding in form. \nTricia is on the board of the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association\, has exhibited in various group shows\, including Life Perceived\, Opposing Forces and Rhyme\, Rhythm and Harmony\, participated in local events such as Larchmont Art on the Avenues\, and had her first solo show at Yellow Studio Gallery in October 2023.
