Join us on December 1 at 5:30pm at the gorgeous Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard in North Salem for a guided 90-minute fresh wreath workshop! Using the best assortment of locally-grown fresh cut greens, dried seasonal flowers and seed pods, and beautiful holiday ribbon, founder and farmer-florist of Wild Iris Flower Co., Christine Covino, will lead a detailed demonstration on designing a handcrafted, nature-inspired holiday wreath.

The Blurry Line Between Life and Art: Artist Talk with Annalisa Oswald

Artist, Illustrator and Professor Annalisa Oswald poses the essential question: What is my purpose and how do I live it? 

Drawing on her own experiences from a career of making art, working in technology, teaching, telling stories, and creating ALL THE THINGS, Annalisa will show how a path of curiosity, experimentation, collaboration, and embracing the unexpected curveballs of life, can inspire us to find deeper engagement with our creativity, our communities, and a stronger connection to our purpose.

Before and after the talk, attendees are also invited to preview our Illustration Show before it opens on December 10. Artists on view include Annalisa Oswald, Danie Drankwalter, Elizabeth DeJure Wood, Emily Ann Hoffman and Kailey Whitman.

Join Curator Maeve Lawler on an after-hours private gallery tour of the Stamford Museum and Nature Center's current exhibition Sophy Regensburg: A Retrospective. Maeve will walk you through Sophy’s fascinating life, from her youth in New York City to her late-in-life success as a gallery-represented painter. Attendees will hear the backstory of works on view and the importance of the still-life in art history. Following the half-hour tour, you’ll be free to explore the exhibition and chat, over light bites and refreshments.

The Elements of a “Great” Photograph: Workshop with Jen Mullowney

Join Jen Mullowney, local photographer and documentary portrait artist, to learn about the elements of capturing a “great” photograph using any camera, including your iPhone or other mobile device. From lighting to composition and everything in between, you will leave with the necessary "dos" for taking your best "shot" - along with many tips and tricks to using those functions you may have been curious about but didn't have the courage to figure out on your own!  Join us and start documenting and taking photos like a pro.
