Nature and Sustainability Club: Winter Sowing for Summer Gardening Workshop with Molly Felde

Please join the YS Nature & Sustainability Club on Thursday January 22 at 6pm for a workshop on successfully growing native plants from seed led by Molly Felde.Â
Fight the winter blues by starting your garden in January! Growing natives from seed is easy when you winter sow in containers. This workshop will get you started with the materials and seeds you need to easily and economically add more life to your garden this next growing season. Plus, native plants provide essential habitat and food for local wildlife and are easy to maintain once they’re established. Â
You’ll learn this simple method of growing from seed and together we’ll plant up several containers with deer resistant plants for each participant to take home and transplant this spring. We’ll also cover the benefits of natives plants.Â
Included in the workshop:
-containers
-seeds
-gardening gloves
-labeling supplies
-resource guide and step-by-step instructions for the material covered and how to transplant seedlings in the spring
Perfect for beginners and gardeners of all levels.Â
Space is limited to 9 attendees. 5 spots are reserved for YS Members.Â
