Join us for the next Film Club meeting on Wednesday December 17 at 7pm. We will be discussing the selected film, Emilia Pérez (2024), written by Jacques Audiard, Thomas Bidegain, and Léa Mysius, directed by Jacques Audiard and starring Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, and Selena Gomez.
Film premise – The film follows three remarkable women in Mexico, each pursuing their own happiness. Cartel leader Emilia enlists unappreciated lawyer Rita to help fake her death so that she can finally live authentically as her true self.

The Yellow Studio Film Club is a group of women who are interested in watching and discussing female-centric stories that have been on the big screen. Each month, a different film will be chosen – selections will vary in terms of genre and time period but will always involve a female-centric theme and/or be written and/or directed by a woman. Once a month the group will meet to discuss the various aspects of the chosen film. Meetings will be informal and open to any YS Member who has a passion, interest and/or curiosity about movies.
