Nature & Sustainability Club: Evening Hike and Potluck Picnic in Ward Pound Ridge

July 9 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Looking to connect with nature and other liked-minded Yellow Studio women? Join the Nature & Sustainability Club for a scenic hike followed by a riverside Potluck Picnic on July 9 at 5:30pm

We’ll be heading to Ward Pound Ridge for a group hike, from Kimberly Bridge, a beautiful picnic area and trailhead overlooking Cross River (the river for which the town is named!).  Feel free to bring along your favorite picnic goods to share with the group. No need to worry about carrying them along the hike – we’ll have a cooler waiting in one of our cars to keep everything fresh and convenient.

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation sprawls across 4,700 acres of countryside, making it the largest park in Westchester County. Its landscape offers a diverse terrain, with everything from deep hollows to towering ridges reaching heights of up to 800 feet.

Within the reservation, you’ll encounter a rich variety of natural features, including hemlock gorges, dry uplands, wetlands, ponds, and two winding rivers. Connecting these natural wonders are 35 miles of scenic trails, allowing visitors to wander through meadows, marshes, and vernal pools.

We will meet at the Kimberly Bridge picnic area.

Please enter the park through the main entrance at Route 121 just south of Route 35, and drive to the Kimberly Bridge picnic area.  It is the very last parking area in the park, so you have not gone too far, keep going! Once you drive over the river, parking is on your left.

A map for location details and parking lot information will be emailed to the hikers in advance of the hike. We look forward to enjoying the surrounding beauty with each of you.

For Yellow Studio Members. Please RSVP.
