Nature & Sustainability Club Workshop: Stitching & Mending for Decoration with Arielle Toelke
April 30 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
$80.00 – $100.00Learn simple stitches to create artworks in thread to adorn, mend, and admire.Â
In this two-hour workshop on Wednesday April 30 at 6:30pm we will learn basic sewing stitches that can be used for mending, repairing, and embellishing. No prior sewing experience needed. We will start by creating a sampler of stitches. Next we will create simple artworks to stitch on fabric that can be used to decorate or mend clothing or to be made into textile artworks. In addition to mending, stained clothing can be upcycled by hiding flaws with embroidery.
Participants can bring items they wish to mend, but it is not necessary. All materials are supplied and everyone will leave with a stitch guide, embroidery hoop, and a stitched artwork.
No sewing experience required.
Limited to 12 attendees.
Organized by Sarah Ehrlich for the Nature & Sustainability Club.Â
