Art Club: Critique Night

Are you in the midst of a project or work of art that you want to bring out of hiding? We as artists so often work in solitude but there is such beauty in community and opening ourselves up. This Critique Night will be a pressure free, supportive space to share ideas and get inspired. It’s completely ok if you don’t have anything concrete to bring for this gathering. You can also bring a question or issue related to art or art business that you would like the group to help with. We will continue to have opportunities throughout the new year to have informal critiques or feedback on all things art and art business, so please come if this idea intrigues you and you would like to take part.

Nature & Sustainability Club: Visible Mending Workshop – Clothing Repair for Sustainability & Style with Chelsie “CJ” Nectow of The Quilted Queer

Inspired by historical mending practices, this workshop will explore hand stitching and embroidery techniques to increase the longevity of what’s already in your closet! We will cover iron on patching to embroidery so that everyone will feel empowered to mend whatever hole or snag comes their way (children's clothes anyone...).

Workshop attendees will receive mending kits with all materials needed.

Please bring a clothing item or two to practice your new mending skills - woven fabrics (non-stretch) work best.

No sewing experience required.

Limited to 12 attendees.
