Traces of the Infinite

The Gallery at Yellow Studio presents "Traces of the Infinite," a small group exhibition featuring the work of Helena Palazzi, Soli Pierce, and Lara Saget, on view September 12 through October 18, 2026. The exhibition brings together three practices that share an interest in a rawness of material and form, and a refusal to treat separation as final. Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, September 12 from 4 to 6pm.

Pierce and Saget both build their work from the materials of the natural world, stone, wood, glass, and metal, treating found and raw matter as a starting point rather than a finished thing. Palazzi's paintings meet that work with a muted palette and layered surface that hold the same quiet register. Together, the artists share an interest in what lies beneath the visible surface of a work, and in the moments when the boundaries we take for granted begin to give way.

About the Artists

Helena Palazzi is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Kingston, New York. Born in Sweden, she moved to Italy in 1993 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts Pietro Vannucci in Perugia, Umbria, where she was introduced to the ideas of Arte Povera and began exhibiting work in photography, painting, and mixed media. In 1998, Palazzi relocated to New York City, where she built an international career spanning more than two decades in fashion and commercial photography, working with leading brands, designers, magazines, and creative agencies. After moving to the Hudson Valley in 2019, she gradually returned to painting, reestablishing a studio practice that now forms the center of her work. Today, she creates contemporary abstract paintings and works on paper from her studio in Kingston, New York.

Soli Pierce is an interdisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, encaustic painting, photography, installation, and sound. Her practice explores how light, material, and atmosphere shape perception, memory, and inward reflection. She is known for her immersive sculptural environments and encaustic paintings that incorporate organic matter and recurring circular motifs. Her work has been the subject of recent solo exhibitions at KinoSaito Arts Center, ArtsWestchester Gallery, Hammond Museum, and BAU Gallery, with a 2025 artist-in-residence at KinoSaito and Jentel, and a 2026 artist-in-residence at Tongue River. Pierce has received grants from ArtsWestchester and NYSCA, and her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Village Voice, and Ars Electronica.

Lara Saget is a Brooklyn-based sculptor and artist whose practice explores spirituality through a scientific lens and imagines new possibilities of natural material design. Over the past decade, she has envisioned large-scale sculptures in bronze, glass, and marble: exploring opposing elements, creating synergies through these material encounters. Her sculptures and installations have been exhibited with Trotter&Sholer Gallery (New York, NY), Halsey McKay Gallery (East Hampton, NY), Bellevue Arts Museum (Bellevue, WA), and Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (Houston, TX). Saget was awarded the 2022 Tg: Transitions in Kiln-Glass Emerging Artist Honor, along with the 2017 NYU MFA Artistic Practice Award. She received her BA from Barnard College and her MFA from New York University.
