Writing Club

Do you have a story you can’t wait to tell? Curious about what it takes to be a writer? Working on your first or fifth screenplay, song, book? The Writing Club is here to support your writing goals–from accountability to feedback, from pitching to publishing and marketing–through in-person writing sessions, crit nights, workshops and interviews with experts. Writing can seem like a solo adventure, but we’re creating a community for and by writers to help each other on our writing odysseys. Writers of all experience levels are welcome!

“Almost all good writing begins with terrible first efforts. You need to start somewhere.” Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Aimee Pokwatka is the author of the novels Self-Portrait with Nothing and The Parliament. Born and raised in West Virginia, she studied anthropology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received her MFA in creative writing from Syracuse University. Her third novel, Accumulation, is forthcoming from Putnam in 2026. She lives in Cross River with her family.

Molly Felde

Molly is an Architect by training with a focus on the design process.

She fell in love with writing when she began her memoir, At the Edge. One of the best parts of the writing journey is the community and friendships that result through shared work, feedback, and experiences.

At the Edge, currently out for submission, is about her experiences teaching architecture at a university in Papua New Guinea where she was transformed from architect to teacher, from foreigner to wantok — the local term for family — and how teaching the creative process in Papua New Guinea altered her post-colonial perspective. Told through the lens of design At the Edge examines the relationship between creativity, education, identity and community. She has recently begun publishing her writing on Substack

Molly now lives in Katonah, NY, with her husband, and two sons and enjoys all things creative.

She lives in Cross River with her family.
