Yellow Studio invites women and non-binary artists to submit three-dimensional work for Hold — an exhibition of vessels and objects. We are looking for work that physically contains, encloses, or surrounds. Bowls, vases, mugs, urns and beyond. Forms built to receive something, or to keep it in.

We welcome work in any material: ceramics, glass, metal, wood, resin, found objects, and combinations. The form is the focus. What the object holds — and how it holds it — is up to you.*

*The submitted vessels and objects must be empty. 

Submissions Open: Wednesday, April 1

Submissions Close: Sunday, April 12

Exhibition Format: This is a retail exhibition where selected artworks will be available for immediate purchase and pickup. Unlike traditional gallery shows, this is an ongoing sales exhibition integrated into our retail environment.

Display Rotation: Accepted works may rotate in and out of display as pieces sell and new work is displayed. Not all accepted pieces will be visible at the same time.

Artwork drop-off (or deliver by date, if shipped): Tuesday, May 12

Artwork pick up: Tuesday, August 18

Eligibility Criteria:

• Submitting artists must identify as women or non-binary
• All artwork must be original work created by the submitting artist

Application Requirements:

Your Submission Must Include:

• 1-3 artworks / image of each submitted artwork
• Artist Statement tailored to your submitted artwork
• Artist Bio
• Submissions without a statement or bio will not be considered
• Submissions will only be accepted through the Artwork Archive open call. No email submissions will be reviewed.

Image Requirements

• Submit 1-3 images of original artwork
• All images must be digital files: JPEG format, 300 DPI minimum
• File size: maximum 5 MB per image
• Name files as follows: LastName_FirstName_ImageTitle.jpg

Artwork Size Requirements

• Maximum size: 12″ x 12″ x 12″
• Minimum size: 1″ x 1″ x 1″
• All dimensions refer to the actual artwork size

Medium Requirements

• All materials welcome. Artwork must be three-dimensional. 

Pricing Requirements

• All artwork must be priced at $1000 or under
• Yellow Studio receives a 30% commission on the listed artwork price (i.e. for an artwork priced at $100, the Artist receives $70 and Yellow Studio receives $30).
