Join the YS Nature & Sustainabilty Club at the Herb Fair & Market on Saturday September 19 at Caramoor! Experience a diverse marketplace featuring fresh herbs, artisanal products, and herbal delights, plus, unique wares for the home, garden, and table, along with herb-infused gourmet foods. The event runs from 10am to 4pm. We will plan to meet at 11am to explore the fair and market together. For folks who would like to join for a picnic lunch, we will pre-order from LMNOP* and gather around 12:30pm on a picnic blanket (exact location TBD).
Optional: If you would like to attend a free presenation at 11:30am, make sure to include "INDIGO" in your RSVP. The presenation is titled Indigo Dye Bath: Bring Your Own Fabric by Artitst Maggie Pate. From India to Japan to Greece, indigo has been the foundation of century-old textile traditions. Artist Maggie Pate will offer a brief intro to indigo then give a demo of how the magic of indigo works. The class is designed for attendees to repurpose old items, cover up stained pieces, or create something original with new purchases. Bring your own freshly cleaned natural fiber items from home. No more than 3 items and no large items like towels or bedding please.
For all interested artists of nature: this workshop on Wednesday September 30 at 6pm is an opportunity to create a pressed botanical composition using your own previously pressed materials from our earlier workshop. For anyone who did not attend the pressing workshop, Marguerite will provide a beautiful selection of pressed botanical specimens. Depending on each participant’s pace, a design may be completed or well underway by the end of the session.
