Monotype Printmaking Workshop with Allison Belolan

Step into the captivating world of monotype printmaking at Yellow Studio on the evening of May 7. In this beginner-friendly workshop, artist and printmaker Allison Belolan will introduce you to the enchanting process of creating unique, painterly prints using water based inks on plexi plates.

No prior experience is necessary – all you need is a curious mind and a willingness to experiment. Embrace the spontaneity and unpredictability of the monotype process as you layer colors, create textures, and watch your designs come to life on paper.

Join us on Friday May 10 at 6:30pm to learn more about Mary Ellis's process, inspiration, career as a painter and graphic designer and more.

This talk will also be the closing reception for Mary's show.

Art Club: Critique Night

This Critique Night on Tuesday May 14 at 6:30pm will be a pressure free, supportive space to share ideas and get inspired. It’s completely okay if you don’t have anything concrete to bring for this gathering. You can also bring a question or issue related to art or art business that you would like the group to help with.

Half-Hour Portraits by Jessica Miller

Join us on Saturday Saturday May 18 for this unique opportunity – to have your portrait painted by local Artist Jessica Miller.

Each 7 x 5 inch expressionist portrait will capture the subject’s likeness and mood, painted in one half-hour sitting.

All are welcome to sit for a portrait, including children accompanied by an adult.

Each portrait is $250.

There will be 6 portrait sessions.

Outdoor Sustainability: Creating an Outdoor Space That Brings Joy to You and Nature with Jess Watts & Xenia D’Ambrosi

Join the Nature & Sustainability Club as we share our love of nature and embrace our outdoor spaces sustainably. 

We are thrilled to welcome back Jess Watts and Xenia D'Ambrosi to Yellow Studio. Their combined knowledge of sustainability practices and enhancing outdoor spaces with landscapes that benefit our native environment (and our home value) is bound to teach us all a thing or two!

This event will be a Q&A on all things outdoor sustainability: trees, gardens, yards, and lawns. To help create a more curated event, those who register will receive a pre-event survey to pose their questions.

Art Club: Excursion to MoMA

All Members welcome! Join us for an excursion to MoMA in NYC on Friday May 31. 

We will start our visit by viewing Joan Jonas: Good Night Good Morning followed by lunch in the museum and then time to explore the permanent collection.

Writing Club: Writing Through Grief with Barri Leiner Grant

Join Barri Leiner Grant for a prompt-led, Write to Heal workshop and meaningful healing circle. No experience necessary.

Barri Leiner Grant is a local author and grief specialist. She founded The Memory Circle to support death and non-death loss. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post and Psychology Today. She utilizes writing workshops as a grief tending tool and exploratory modality for movement and change.
