Framing Fundamentals with Ilsa Bouyoucos

Join us for Framing Fundamentals with Ilsa Bouyoucos on Wednesday, October 28 at 6pm.
In this two-hour, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of framing your own work, from properly mounting a piece to putting together a finished frame. Ilsa will walk you through different framing techniques and materials, with guidance at every step.
Please bring a piece of artwork or a photo, along with mat board, to fit an 8 x10 frame. Frames and all other framing materials will be provided.
Whether your work is headed for a gallery wall or a wall at home, you’ll leave with the skills to comfortably frame yourself, with your finished piece in hand.
About Ilsa Bouyoucos
Ilsa Bouyoucos is a Westchester-born painter and fine art framer whose work explores repetition, color relationships, and geometric abstraction. Drawing on both emotional and structural approaches to painting, she balances optical precision with visible traces of the hand, a reminder that a person made each work. Alongside her studio practice, Ilsa trained under master framers and worked at The Parker and Bedford Village Frame Shop and Gallery. She is now a framer at Katonah Art & Frame.
