  • Art Club: Mariko Mori Radiance at Sean Kelly Gallery & Chelsea Gallery Stroll

    Join the Art Club for a visit to see Mariko Mori: Radiance at Sean Kelly Gallery in NYC. At Sean Kelly, we will meet with Terrill Warrenburg, Art Fair and Special Projects Manager, for a tour of the exhibition and gallery. (Bonus: Tina Villaveces, Yellow Studio Founder, worked at Sean Kelly and will also gladly share stories of her time there as a Registrar.) Following our visit to Sean Kelly, we will explore other gallery exhibitions in Chelsea, including but not limited to: Igshaan Adams at the Hill Art Foundation, Lynne Drezler at Berry Campbell and Richard Serra at Gagosian.

  • Figure Drawing Workshop with Courtney Alan Rossy

    Experience a classic drawing exercise that teaches you how to observe and draw anything as you consider gesture, proportion, line and volume of the human form.

    Join us on Tuesday November 11 at 6:30pm for a life drawing session and learn how to draw from a live model.

    Enjoy a relaxing, inspiring evening focused on looking and exploring materials.

  • Film Club: Short Films Screening & Discussion

    Join us for the next Film Club meeting on Wednesday November 12 at 7pm.

    We will screen approximately 3 short films live and in person together at Yellow Studio. In between each screening, we'll open the floor to discussion. All 3 films will fall under the umbrella of a female-centric theme.

    Reneepoptosis, Japan/USA, 2018, Best Animation at Sundance, Renee Zhan's short film is a provocative exploration of self. Three Renees go on a quest to find God—who is also Renee.

    I'm Not a Robot, Netherlands/Belgium, 2025, Winner of the 2025 Academy Award for Best Live-Action Short. Victoria Warmerdam’s short film, a series of failed Captcha tests plunges a woman into a strange new reality.

    Bus 44, China and Hong Kong, 2001, Directed by Dayyan Eng. On the outskirts of a small town, a bus driver and her passengers encounter highway robbers. "Bus 44" carries a universal theme that travels across all boundaries and societies, trespassing the dark side and bright side of human behavior. Beth will send links to the films a week or so before November 12 so that people can watch beforehand if they'd like (watching before is not required though).

  • Writing Club: Critique Night

    Interested in receiving feedback on your work?  The Writing Club will be hosting Critique Night once every other month. Our next Critique Night is Thursday November 13 at 7pm.

  • Book Club: The Names by Florence Knapp

    Join us for Book Club at Bedford Books on Tuesday November 18 at 6:30pm to discuss The Names by Florence Knapp. There will be lively discussion, questions posed and answered and time to connect with fellow YS Members.

  • On-Camera Workshop with Shelley Molad

    Hone your On-Camera skills with actor and coach Shelley Molad who will be offering a one night workshop where participants will have a chance to work on assigned scenes, filmed with a professional studio set-up. Shelley will share techniques and insight for working on camera with various material including procedurals, dramas, sitcoms, and commercial copy. Everyone will receive video files of their work in MOV format.

    All acting levels are welcome and the only requirement is to be yourself and have fun!

    Ground into stillness, nourish your spirit, and cultivate inner harmony. This mindful gathering offers practices to calm the body, center the mind, and prepare to welcome the upcoming holiday season with balance, clarity, and joy.

    We'll gather in the tent, surrounded by nature, closing out the evening by the fire with tea in hand, as we anchor into peace and presence in community.

The Gallery at Yellow Studio invites you to explore these profound questions through Between Here and There, a juried member exhibition featuring twenty-two women artists. On view from Saturday, November 22, through Sunday, December 21, 2025. Celebrate with us at the opening reception on Saturday, December 6, from 4 to 6pm.
