Black and white photography strips away distraction to reveal the essential. In this curated exhibition, we celebrate the power of photography to capture emotion, form, and story with striking clarity. We're excited to showcase the diverse perspectives of women photographers working in this timeless medium through a retail exhibition at The Co-Op and Beehive at Yellow Studio. From intimate portraits to sweeping landscapes, detailed abstracts to candid street scenes, "In Focus" brings together artists who embrace the sophisticated elegance and enduring appeal of black and white photography.
This season, Yellow Studio’s Nature & Sustainability Club is proud to partner with the Community Center of Northern Westchester for their annual “Share the Warmth” Drive, supporting local children and families during the holidays. From now through the end of November, we’ll be collecting new fleece blankets, warm hats, and cozy gloves for children from newborn to 18 years old. These essential items will help keep our community’s youngest members warm and cared for during the cold winter months. |

As the season changes, so does the light. Our imagination follows, the end of longer days, the beginning of magical times. Beginning, ending, continuing. Light and dark, day and night, autumn turns to winter. What stories come with that? Submissions accepted September 1 to 22. Five pieces will be selected from the first twenty-five submissions received by September 22. Join us for the next Film Club meeting on Wednesday November 12 at 7pm. We will screen approximately 3 short films live and in person together at Yellow Studio. In between each screening, we'll open the floor to discussion. All 3 films will fall under the umbrella of a female-centric theme. Reneepoptosis, Japan/USA, 2018, Best Animation at Sundance, Renee Zhan's short film is a provocative exploration of self. Three Renees go on a quest to find God—who is also Renee. I'm Not a Robot, Netherlands/Belgium, 2025, Winner of the 2025 Academy Award for Best Live-Action Short. Victoria Warmerdam’s short film, a series of failed Captcha tests plunges a woman into a strange new reality. Bus 44, China and Hong Kong, 2001, Directed by Dayyan Eng. On the outskirts of a small town, a bus driver and her passengers encounter highway robbers. "Bus 44" carries a universal theme that travels across all boundaries and societies, trespassing the dark side and bright side of human behavior. Beth will send links to the films a week or so before November 12 so that people can watch beforehand if they'd like (watching before is not required though).
